Italian Trade Agency

Italy's bridge between industry and the world.

Rome, Italy

The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) is the official government organization dedicated to supporting the international growth of Italian enterprises and attracting foreign investment to Italy. Present in India since 1969 with offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, ITA actively advances the excellence of Made in Italy through targeted market intelligence and business development.

Italy boasts one of the world's few complete space supply chains — backed by over 500 space companies, 14 technology clusters, a national cluster, and three national associations. This ecosystem seamlessly connects Large System Integrators specializing in complex engineering, roughly 200 small and medium enterprises driving upstream and downstream operations, and agile startups pioneering next-generation technologies.

This full-spectrum capability aligns directly with India's rise as the world's most dynamic emerging space ecosystem. Driven by sweeping policy reforms, strong cost advantages, and rapid private-sector lift-off, India has evolved beyond a low-cost launch destination into a policy-enabled, globally investable space hub. Representing roughly 2% of the global space economy, India maintains a complete national stack across launch systems, satellites, navigation, and deep-space exploration, making it an increasingly vital partner on the global stage.

The alignment between both nations is already delivering tangible economic results. While broader global aerospace imports into India experienced contractions leading into 2026, Italian aerospace exports to India staged an extraordinary 281% surge between 2024 and 2025 to reach approximately €122 million, maintaining strong momentum into 2026. To build upon this unprecedented growth, ITA is proud to host eight leading Italian space enterprises at the Bengaluru Space Expo 2026. Industry stakeholders and institutional partners are warmly invited to visit the Italian Pavilion, explore these groundbreaking technologies, and collaborate in shaping the next chapter of global space innovation.
